Update: Dad and Germany

Good morning all! The big day is here to depart for Germany, or rather, Deutschland. I can't believe Tuesday has finally arrived! So far our flights have been delayed, but we're pretty much all packed up and ready, but we have a few more loose ends to tie up.

I did want to let you all know I may choose not to blog at both the family blog (this site) and my own. So, please check www.caroljoy.blogspot.com for updates should you not find any here. Also, Bonnie's blog will have updates that will not be published here.

Thank you for all your prayers for dad. Please continue to pray for him. He comes down once a day for a hot shower which is good but is still spending the majority of time in bed. Again, thank you all for your prayers.

Auf Wiedersehen :)

Greetings and salutations! We’ve been on the home turf now for almost two weeks and greatly enjoying spreading out and doing tasks that can only be done from home! We are taking the rest of the month off from singing and concerts. Check the website for our December schedule!

Vincent has been out in the “timber” hunting deer, which thus far hasn’t produced a deer. He’s still looking though.

Dad has been dealing with some very severe pain, cause unknown at the moment, which is restricting him to the bed almost exclusively since Friday. We would greatly appreciate your prayers for his back to stop going into spasms and causing ice-pick type pains.

Bonnie and Carol have been packing for a 17 day trip to Germany. Bonnie the linguistic fan wants to learn German and visit another country. Prayers for their safety and appreciated!

Here are a few photos….mostly from Carol’s new camera. :)

Daniel. And, yes it’s been pretty mild for November.

Howdy everyone! As you can see from my previous post, my laptop wifi has been out of commission so…here we are in New Jersey and the church we’re singing at tomorrow morning is graciously letting me plug in directly….so that means…pictures and post! Loooong over due posts, ones I’ve had sitting in my laptop for a while…

Here’s the latest post: The Home Stretch

Yes, we are in the home stretch! (We may be home by the time I have a computer with photos and a connection to post this!) It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s 5 weeks or 9, toward the end of the trip we are all excited about going home! While home is coming up quickly on Monday I want to recap our last week for you all. How full and fun it has been!

We have enjoyed coming to Asheboro, NC for several years now and enjoyed the southern family style hospitality of the Matsons on more than one occasion and this time through was no exception. A delightful time of fellowship was had as we ate and played on their acres just outside of Asheboro.

One of the highlights with them was going to the North Carolina Zoo thanks to the Lewis family.

We enjoyed seeing…

…Sea Lions…

Here’s an even older post: Texas Ranch

By the time this gets posted we should be out of Texas or not to far from being out of Texas! We spent a few days at the exotic animal camp/ranch in Texas, out side of Paris. We lived next to the horses, who in turn had their field next to the ostrich pen.

Here’s Bonnie making friends with the camel. ;D

We saw lemurs.

It’s really hard to get nice photos through wires…but not much I could do about it this time.

Sunday we spent the day singing and hanging out with the Neals (Grandpa’s Neighbors). What fun! We’re so glad we got to meet you all!
