Like the fruit and the color..

Have you even been curious what our little town of Orange looks like? If so I think you’ll enjoy this post.

This past Sunday afternoon the main bluegrass group of the MacDonald Family was outside entertaining the neighbors. A man in a jeep stopped his car and jumped out with a camera. You can read and see his evaluation of our little town and us at his blog. He even upload a sample of music to you tube. : )

I’m sitting here realizing I have failed you all. Do you really think 17 days between blog posts is acceptable? -sigh- I don’t have the photos taken of the craft projects we did on the bus yet. The camera is not working well and I‘ve been getting uninspired to take pictures. I can’t tell if it’s me or the camera. Probably me! Anyway, to you folks who are faithful to check back to see if we’ve blogged I’m writing up a little post, with pictures, so as you all won’t think we’ve dropped off the planet. : )

Spring is a lovely time of year and we are enjoying the nice weather that goes along with it. The flowers are blooming at the farmy type store we visited Friday.

Pansies!

I guess we’ll do the update by person.

Dad has been experiencing pain and such. He’s very stiff but trying to walk and keep mobile.

Mom has been very vigorously tackling spring cleaning projects.

Carol’s (that’s me) has been experimenting with portrait shots. (see pic below) She also dealt with case of poison ivy which made her face swell two weeks ago. That was just swell. : P

Bonnie has been playing the sax and trying to teach us Spanish. She’s really organized but I’m afraid we aren’t very good students.

Bonnie and sax

Vincent has been gardening, playing banjo a ton, and fixing various items.

Peter has been playing errand boy on the motorcycle. He just came back with ice cream a few minutes ago. The weather has been nice for motorcycle rides!

Nathan has been working on his mini bike and his newly purchased Honda motorcycle. He’s getting to be quite the mechanic.

Matthew has been helping us learn how to use our new cell phone. It has some interesting ring tones!

Daniel has been enjoying the Gomer Pyle Show dvd set Matthew brought home. All of us have been watching it actually.

Hannah has her eye on getting a bunny. She got a hutch this evening and is dreaming about the day when a little lopeared rabbit will be hers. She and I have been coooing and awwing over bunny pictures on-line.
.
On the music front we found a fantastic arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner, which I’m very excited about.

Tonight we’re all kinda tired after our heavy cleaning day but so thankful for God’s immense and overwhelming blessings on our lives.

…being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Last month we had a birthday! : ) Daniel, the only blue eyed boy in our family turned 11!*

We are so blessed to have Daniel in our lives. He’s very helpful and has good attitude about things. He enjoys reading true stories, being outdoors, Blood Red Soup (it’s not as nasty as it sounds!), computer games, and biking. He has also delighted us with his culinary recipes. Last year he designed his own birthday cake. It’s now one of our favorites. : )

Daniel's 11th Birthday

Warming up (?) over the candles with another cake he designed himself. :)

In other news, yesterday was National Atheist Day. ;-)

Coming up soon: be watching for a post including pictures of the crafty projects we finished on our trip! Crocheting is quickly become the latest and greatest craft project around here.

*Useless fact: 7 out of 8 MacDonald children are turning odd numbers this year. : )
