We spent Thanksgiving Day at the studio. Yes, we had turkey and trimmings (very good ones in fact) but we also tried to complete the audio portion of our newest release, Power in The Blood.
Before I forget: we got the chicken back! For those who don't know, we adpoted a little chick in September. We've been hoping for a layer but now we are pretty sure our hen is a rooster. : ( He seems nice enough, except he loves to attack remote control cars. ; ) Haha.
Our dear Charles likes to peck at stale bread, too. Hey, could we just trim the tail feathers so he looks like a hen??? ; )
One of the more humorous moments while preparing Thanksgiving dinner yesterday morning went like this:
Mrs. W: Can you put the squash in the oven?
Helper: Sure!
*Helper set the oven to 350 and tries to open the oven door - it opens half way and won’t move*
Helper: eh, this isn’t working. Is there a trick to this?
Mrs. W: Just pull hard and lift up.
Helper: Ok. I won’t break it, will I?
Mrs. W. Oh no, you won’t break it.
* Helper tugs firmly (VERY firmly) and a second later the handle of the oven detaches from the door and flies off into Helper’s hands.*
*Helper is mortified, but relieved when Mrs. W breaks into hysterical laugher*
Hehe.
We knew it was going to be a time crunch to finish the cd but we did our best and got down to reviewing the master copy that evening. ¾ of the way in there is a ‘crackle’ in the audio which means we have to find the problem (S), correct it, burn a new cd, and start listening to the 65 minutes of audio all over again.
Bonnie, Vincent, and Peter dutifully waiting to listen to the cd.
The long hour drive home didn’t seem very invited so we camped out in the bus for the night. This morning we woke up with sore throats. : ( We listened to the new master and found MORE clicks. So, after another half hour waiting for the new master we sat down for 65 minutes and listened and listened and listened!
Garrett and Mr. Wiebe listening. : )
Praise the Lord the audio is finished and we walked out with a copy to send away to make 5,000 copies. We should have the whole album available for download in a few days at our website: www.macdonaldfamilysingers.com. We will make an announcement and post here as well when it is all ready! Hard copies will not be available, at the earliest, until January.
Health update: Victor caught a new cold. : ( Still no apparent remission for the colitis and arthritis. Thanks all for your prayers! We’re extremely thankful for a light singing schedule for a week or two!
God bless you all.
Love,
The MacDonald Family
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a consuming fire."
