January 14th
Time: 7:48pm
Listening to: Ron Block songs and various other songs midst of the clatter of siblings.
Place: South Carolina
We’re back to the sights and smells of the road! This is great. (We are seeing lots of Ron Paul signs!!) We had a rough pre-trip preparation time but we’re out and running smoothly now, thank the Lord. We did forget a few things. Nothing serious, thankfully. ;-) No one forgot an instrument!! :pleased:
After a mechanically uneventful trip to NC we checked into the church and then trekked to the beach in Oak Island.
Walking down the road…
Mom and Dad decided to drive down later.
Ouch! Painfully cold water!
Cold feet, warm hearts.
Pretty Bonnie under the pier!
We got some intense practice in that afternoon. No pics or sound clips. :-P Our first concert went very smoothly compared to some first-on-a-tour concerts. We only had to fill 40 minutes so we didn’t have to use all our new material! That gives us more time to practice. (Phew!)
The Johnson family came to hear us that evening. They traveled 3 hours with another family and we got to hang out with them after the concert and the next morning at the beach!
Bonnie, unfortunately, was stricken with what we can assume was food poisoning in the middle of the after concert meal. She tried to help break down the equipment but she was sent out to the bus and threw up about 45 minutes later. L We are so thankful she felt better the next day and no one else has shown as severe symptoms, yet. Some of us have felt a little queasy but I’m, er, we are trying to ignore it. :-P
Our morning at the beach can be summed up in two words. Fun and cold!
Races!
Julia, Emily, Bonnie, Carol.
Digging, walks and wind.
Thank you all for coming and spending time with us!
We’re looking forward to the next 9 weeks of traveling. God is good and continues to grant us grace for each day.
